Following our previous conversation with Professor Virginia Drummond, we continued discussing one of today’s most relevant workplace topics: the impact of remote work on employee engagement.
Professor Drummond is a professor and DBA mentor at PSM, where she teaches Strategic Management and Human Resource Management. Drawing on her expertise in both fields, she believes that remote work is not diminishing employee engagement. Instead, she sees it as transforming the way organizations approach motivation, leadership, and workplace connection. According to her, employee motivation today depends on understanding that people working remotely and those working in person respond to different management approaches and engagement drivers.
Professor Drummond also highlights that remote and hybrid work models are no longer temporary solutions, but part of the future of work.
Her insights remind us that successful organizations will be those capable of adapting their management strategies, strengthening communication, and creating meaningful connections, regardless of physical distance.
