Over the course of his career, Jose Martin Dip has gained experience in different business environments, working across operations, project management, and transformation. His professional background also includes part-time teaching, bringing another perspective to the knowledge and experience he has developed through his work.
Through the Swiss-French Dual Degree DBA, Martin had the opportunity to build on his professional experience through academic study and research, while exploring business and organisational challenges from a broader perspective.
In this testimonial, Martin shares what led him to the program, how his skills developed throughout his studies, and which aspects of the PSM experience proved most valuable to him.
Could you introduce yourself and tell us a little about your professional journey?
I’m Martin Dip, an Operations & Transformation Manager based in Paris. Over the years I’ve worked across banking, consulting, and healthcare operations, and what I’ve come to enjoy most is walking into complex, sometimes messy situations and helping teams find a better way forward. Teaching part-time more recently has added another layer to that, giving me a chance to reflect on what I’ve learned in my DBA and share it with others starting out.
What made you choose the Swiss-French Dual Degree DBA?
Much of my career has been about execution, being the person who solves the problem. I reached a point where I wanted to understand the strategic thinking behind those decisions more deeply, not just carry them out. That curiosity is what led me to this double-program.
Can you share how your skills developed throughout the program?
The program helped me move from relying mainly on practical experience to thinking more deliberately and strategically about the challenges I was facing. I became more confident in using academic frameworks to structure complex problems, question assumptions, and connect operational decisions to broader organizational goals. It also strengthened my ability to communicate those ideas clearly, both in the workplace and through teaching.
Which part of your PSM experience was most valuable to you?
Connecting academic frameworks with the real transformation challenges I was facing at work at the time. It made the learning immediately applicable.
Who would you recommend this program to, and why?
I’d recommend it to professionals with solid operational experience who are ready to grow into a more strategic role, without having to pause their careers to do it.
