SSBM professors are consistently engaged in research, which naturally involves data collection and analysis. To fulfill the mandate of a scientist, we actively welcome student collaboration in these efforts. By participating in data collection and analysis, students gain firsthand exposure to impactful, real-world projects. At PSM, this approach deepens their appreciation of how theory connects to practice. In addition, I plan to introduce industry talks and guest sessions, giving students the opportunity to learn directly from professionals and broaden their perspectives beyond the classroom.

Remaining connected to the global business landscape is critical to the success of any school. Of course, the direction ultimately lies with PSM’s senior leadership. As Advisory Board members, our responsibility is to ensure that PSM’s leadership remains attuned to the demands of today’s rapidly evolving business world. This includes reviewing policies that drive growth and ensuring the curriculum is responsive to urgent needs. When updates to the curriculum are necessary, we assess feasibility and resource requirements to support change. Ultimately, our role is to provide well-informed advice and chart actionable paths for management, enabling them to focus on strategic and operational priorities.

The success of alumni is a strong indicator of how well current students are being prepared for the future. When alumni excel, they serve as role models for students and provide valuable examples of career readiness. Therefore, our responsibility extends to advising and supporting alumni initiatives, as this indirectly benefits current students. I believe engaging alumni more actively—through professional talks, mentorship, and networking opportunities—can provide students with clearer insights into life after graduation. While the Advisory Board is a relatively small group of professionals, tapping into the alumni network significantly broadens our collective impact and enhances our ability to prepare students for successful careers.

I see strong demand for data science and AI education at PSM over the next three to five years. This demand is fueled by our pool of capable lecturers drawn from academia, consulting, and industry practice, who collaborate to bring the business world closer to the classroom. Because of these connections, employers increasingly value the balance of theoretical knowledge and practical skillsets our graduates possess. This unique positioning will create new career opportunities for PSM students, particularly as businesses worldwide continue to integrate data science and AI into their operations.
