Dr. Leonard Chu Tang is a scholar-practitioner who retired as Chief Executive Officer of an investment banking subsidiary of a Chinese banking group. Throughout an international career spanning Asia and Europe across major financial institutions and conglomerates including BNP Paribas, Crédit Agricole, ICBC, China Merchants Group, and other Chinese banking group subsidiaries, Dr. Tang brings over three decades of C-suite executive leadership experience in global investment banking on top of academic rigor to doctoral supervision. His professional background encompasses cross-border M&A origination and execution, equity and debt capital markets, private equity, licensed platform setups, and regulatory governance across Greater China and European markets.
Dr. Tang holds a Doctor of Business Administration from the Paris School of Management (4.0 GPA), where his doctoral dissertation focused on happiness economics and institutional dynamics in East Asia. With a Civil Engineering Bachelor degree from the University of Hong Kong, Dr. Tang also holds three master degrees: a Master in Management from HEC Paris (Diplômé d’HEC), a Master of Practicing Accounting from Monash University of Australia, and a Master of Buddhist Studies from the University of Hong Kong.
As for professional qualifications, he is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter holder, as well as a qualified CPA as a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA) and also a CPA Australia member.
