What inspired you to pursue the Swiss–French Dual Degree DBA at the Paris School of Management, and in what ways has the program lived up to—or exceeded—your initial expectations?
I wanted a program that combined academic credibility with real-world relevance. The Swiss–French Dual Degree DBA delivers exactly that:
- Two accredited doctorates (Swiss and French) in one coherent program
- A fully online, research-driven format compatible with a senior career
- A strong focus on applied research and executive-level impact
For me, this was the perfect fit. It allows me to integrate strategic topics—like offshore hydrogen, nuclear, and offshore renewables—directly into my doctoral work.
What Surprised Me Most
The program has exceeded my expectations in three ways:
Academic rigor: Deep methodological training
Outstanding supervision: Responsive and accessible faculty
Global network: Peers from diverse industries tackling transition challenges
This combination gives me both academic legitimacy and a stronger platform as a senior practitioner, speaker, and advisor in the energy transition space.
Your research focuses on offshore hydrogen. Why do you believe this topic holds such strategic importance in today’s global energy landscape?
Offshore hydrogen is a game-changer. It connects massive offshore wind potential with the need for low-carbon hydrogen in hard-to-electrify sectors like chemicals, refining, and heavy industry.
It also brings system-level benefits:
- Reduces costly offshore grid reinforcements
- Mitigates curtailment
- Enables smarter use of scarce North Sea space
For the Netherlands, this aligns perfectly with national ambitions: pipeline reuse, offshore wind expansion, and positioning the Dutch North Sea as a green hydrogen hub—the core of my research.
How has the DBA program shaped your skills, mindset, or professional outlook?
This journey shifted my mindset from solution-driven consultant to scholar-practitioner. I now:
- Translate complex industry questions into researchable problems
- Design robust methodologies
- Critically assess evidence with academic rigor
Professionally, it strengthens my role as a senior energy expert, opening doors to academic appointments, research collaborations, and international advisory roles.
What do you enjoy most about being part of the Paris School of Management community?
What I love most? Its international, practice-focused character. Discussions on hydrogen, offshore energy, and sustainability are grounded in both theory and real-world challenges, creating rich peer learning.
Do you have any advice for future DBA candidates?
- Start with a problem you care about—this program is built for applied research with real impact
- Align your thesis early with your long-term positioning
- Manage your time like a strategic project: block time weekly, engage with supervisors and peers
- See the dual degree as a strategic asset—it signals you can operate at the intersection of research and high-level practice
Ready to Lead the Energy Transition?
For me, this DBA is more than a degree—it’s a platform to shape the future of offshore hydrogen and sustainable energy systems.
