Can you tell us a bit about yourself and what motivated you to choose Paris School of Management for your studies?
I am a higher education instructor based in the United States. I believe that being a part of an international academic environment would allow me to advance myself in different perspectives and approaches to research.
I chose to immerse myself in a different country’s DBA program so that I can challenge myself personally and professionally. In return, this would make me a more adaptable, well-rounded researcher and educator.
What was your first impression of PSM, and how has your experience matched or exceeded your expectations so far?
At first, I was impressed by PSM’s accreditation as being recognized as a private higher education institution in France. For me, this was something that caught my eye because I knew I was going to have to push myself harder in order to improve the quality of my research.
Have you already started developing any new skills or perspectives since joining PSM? If so, which ones stand out the most?
My research skills and quality have vastly improved thanks to the direction of my mentor. My research questions, methodology, and quantitative thinking have been refined thanks to PSM.
I have been constantly challenged to think deeper so that I can avoid common pitfalls throughout the research process.
What are you most looking forward to exploring—academically, professionally, or culturally—during your time at PSM?
I have been looking forward to understanding the applications of blockchain beyond cryptocurrencies.
By conducting research on business strategy and emerging technology, my goal is to contribute academically to the idea of understanding how a business can leverage blockchain not just as a technical solution, but as a conduit of innovation and value creation.
What advice would you give to prospective students considering PSM for their business education?
My experience in the DBA program would lead me to the following conclusion for prospective new students: make sure you understand the expectations for advanced research. Writing a dissertation through PSM’s DBA program requires you to understand the scope and depth of your project.
Your project should be a year-long journey to understanding data collection and conflicting research findings. However, be sure to more importantly understand that your research is a jog, not a sprint. PSM and their mentors are here to guide you and ensure that you take your time at fine-tuning your project into a masterpiece.
